E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial: Movie with Live Orchestra - CANCELLED

  • Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of WV 1 Clay Square Charleston, WV, 25301 United States (map)

In light of the continuing concern about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra has made the difficult decision to cancel all concerts through May 4. This decision follows the Centers for Disease Control’s guideline to avoid gatherings of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.

This is a challenging time for many industries as arts organizations, restaurants, small businesses, and many others rely on the ability to interact in groups regularly. While the decision to cancel concerts is heartbreaking, our priority is the safety of everyone in the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra family and in the greater community.

Concerts affected by the cancellation are:

• Music as Great Literature (Symphonic 4): March 14, 2020 at the Clay Center

• E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Movie with Live Orchestra (Pops 4): March 28, 2020 at the Clay Center

• Carmina Burana (Symphonic 5): April 18, 2020 at the Clay Center

• A European Tour (Symphonic 6): May 2, 2020 at the Clay Center

Several options are available for patrons who have already purchased tickets to these concerts:

• Donate your tickets. If we do not hear from you by June 1, 2020, we will issue you a tax receipt in the amount of your donation. Of course, you will be recognized in next year’s program for your generous donation of the ticket values.

• Receive a credit on your 2020-2021 season subscription.

• Exchange your tickets for a voucher to be used for any WVSO single ticket purchase in the next 5 years.

Ticket exchanges can be made by contacting the Clay Center Box Office by email at boxoffice@theclaycenter.org or by phone at (304) 561-3570. For general questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Amanda McDonald, Marketing Director by email at amcdonald@wvsymphony.org or by phone at (304) 957-9880.
