Maier Foundation “A Look Behind the Curtain…”

“The Maier Foundation is excited to fund the program in conjunction with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra,” said Maier Foundation President Brad Rowe. “It is our hope that this program will expand the learning opportunities for students in higher education, as well as allow them to gain real-world experience.”

Thanks to generous funding from the Maier Foundation, the WVSO is presenting the third season of the “A Look Behind the Curtain…” Program.

This music preparedness program is open to current undergraduate and graduate college students studying music and/or arts administration who plan on pursuing a career in performance, conducting, arts management, etc. High school juniors and seniors interested in these career paths are also welcome to attend.

Beginning at the February 22 concert, students are encouraged to join the WVSO for a day and learn what it is like to work as a professional musician or staff member for a state symphony orchestra.

Participants will sit in on a rehearsal, have a question-and-answer session with a musician, conductor, or staff member, and receive up to 2 free tickets for the concert that evening.

There will be four sessions of this program throughout the 25-26 season. Attend one or attend them all!

SCHEDULE: Rehearsal: 10:30 a.m.; Q&A: 1:00 p.m.; Pre-concert Talk: 6:30 p.m.; Concert: 7:30 p.m.
