Join us for an evening of collaboration between two of the premier music organizations in the Mountain State: the WV Symphony Orchestra and Mountain Stage!

This episode of Mountain Stage is hosted by Grammy-winner Kathy Mattea and features performances by Judy Collins and more with the support of the WV Symphony Orchestra and the Mountain Stage band.

Mountain Stage is a live music radio show, recorded and produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting and distributed on over 280 NPR stations nationwide. The show typically features 5 acts, with performances from seasoned legends and emerging stars in genres ranging from folk, blues, and country to indie rock, synth pop, world music, alternative, and beyond. Over the years guests have included John Prine, Patti Smith, Dr. John, Mavis Staples, Townes Van Zandt, Hugh Masekela, Buddy Guy, Tyler Childers, Wilco, Phish, and Angélique Kidjo, to name just a few.

This year marks the show's 40th year, celebrating the longest-standing live music radio show on public radio. 

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra is West Virginia’s premier performing arts organization, presenting classical, pops, family and chamber-music concerts annually throughout the Mountain State. Currently entering its 85th season, the WVSO is a proud member of the community and enriches the region by providing affordable, high-quality concerts, collaborations with West Virginia arts organizations and a nationally award-winning education program.
