The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) is excited to announce a family-friendly performance of Stories, Myths & Folktales on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 3:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Charleston’s West Side.
Stories, Myths, & Folktales is presented by the WVSO and the Chrysalis Duo. This musically accessible event for kids, families, and adults on Saturday, January 21 pairs musical works with children's books that speak to the human love of storytelling and elements of West Virginia's historic cultural diversity.
The 45-minute program on Charleston's historic West Side will be a free event open to the public. The duo will feature works by Akin Euba, John Corigliano, C.W. Gluck, Robert Frankenberry, and David Del Tredici. Readings of children's books will accompany the performance.
“We are thrilled to return to Emmanuel Baptist to bring this fun and innovative program to residents of Charleston thanks to funding from the city,” said WVSO President Joe Tackett.
