West Virginia Symphony presents Young People’s Concerts, The Building Blocks of Music

CHARLESTON, W.VA. (11/6/23) – The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) presents The Building Blocks of Music, a Young People’s Concert in Charleston and Clarksburg on Nov. 14 and 16.

Area schools and students and the public are invited to join alongside the WVSO as they perform The Building Blocks of Music! on Nov. 14 at the Clay Center in Charleston and Nov. 15 at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg. Under the direction of Music Director Maurice Cohn, students will learn how music works and how to understand what they hear when listening to music, focusing on three key elements—melody, harmony, and rhythm.

Performances in Charleston begin at 9:45 a.m. and 11:35 a.m, while Clarksburg performances begin at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Admission for students is $4. One school chaperone is admitted free for every 10 students. Admission for all additional adults is $4.
