CIRQUE DE LA SYMPHONIE TO REPLACE BUGS BUNNY CONCERT

CHARLESTON, W.VA. (4/5/19) – The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) will perform “Cirque de la Symphonie” on Saturday, April 13 at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. replacing the previously scheduled “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony” concert.

 “We are thrilled to be able to bring ‘Cirque de la Symphonie’ back to Charleston after several years’ hiatus,” said Amanda McDonald, Marketing Director.

 WVSO President Joe Tackett booked the “Cirque de la Symphonie” show after learning on Thursday that “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony” creator and conductor George Daugherty had to cancel the WVSO performance because of illness.

 “When we heard the news that George was sick, we immediately tried to think of a show that has as much pizazz as Bugs Bunny, and Cirque was the perfect fit!” McDonald said.

 Tickets to the Bugs Bunny show will be honored for the Cirque show. Any patrons requesting a refund should contact the Clay Center Box Office at 304.561.3570.

 Cirque de la Symphonie brings together some of the best cirque artists in the world, thrilling the audience with aerial flyers, acrobats, strongmen, jugglers, and more. The cirque feats contribute to the spirited performance of the orchestra, providing a visual enhancement to the magnificence of a live symphony concert.

 Tickets for the concerts, which begin at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. on April 13, start at $17 and are available at wvsymphony.org or by calling 304.561.3570.
