West Virginia Symphony Orchestra Announces Receipt of $5,000 Grant from Truist West Virginia Foundation
/CHARLESTON, W.VA. (4/1/21) – The WV Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) today announced it received a $5,000 grant from Truist West Virginia Foundation in support of WVSO musicians during the hard-hit pandemic season.
“We are incredibly thankful to the Truist West Virginia Foundation for supporting orchestral music in our community, especially during this difficult time,” said Symphony President Joe Tackett. “Our community is made richer by businesses like Truist that invest in the lives of our citizens by connecting the business sector with our cultural existence.”
The grant makes possible an April concert, “A Serenade of Winds,” featuring musicians of the WVSO as they return to the stage of the Clay Center. The concert will be available online Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m. The full concert, including an extended program and bonus interviews, will be hosted on the Symphony’s website for 30 days. Access to the stream is available for $15 for single tickets and $25 for family tickets and can be purchased through wvsymphony.org. The concert will later be televised statewide on Thursday, April 29 at 10:30 p.m. on all West Virginia Public Broadcasting television channels.
