West Virginia Symphony presents Mountain Stage with the WVSO

CHARLESTON, W.VA. (11/3/23) – The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) kicks off the ZMM Architects and Engineers Pops Series with Mountain Stage with the WVSO on Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Charleston.

The two premier arts and cultural leaders in West Virginia join forces for a celebration of some of the finest orchestral and pops music for one night only. Music Director Maurice Cohn brings the WVSO and Mountain Stage together for an epic on-stage collaboration featuring Judy Collins, Gabriel Kahane, Kathy Mattea, Bob Thompson and more.

“I am very excited to collaborate with Mountain Stage on this concert and am thrilled that our two institutions are coming together to celebrate great music-making in West Virginia,” said WVSO Music Director Maurice Cohn. “We have a stellar lineup of guest artists and will be performing in a wide range of styles representing music from across American history and culture. “Mountain Stage has always been known for a wide range of musical approaches. It's what our listeners have come to expect,” said Mountain Stage host Kathy Mattea. “This show will be no exception, with a modern singer-songwriter with an orchestral background, a living legend from folk and pop music with an ethereal voice to ride along on the Symphony's colorful accompaniment, and some surprises, from Bob Thompson's jazz sensibilities, and Julie Adams' eclectic song choices. It's going to be a fun musical adventure, and we're all excited about it!”

The ZMM Architects and Engineers Pops Concert Series concert is made possible by the generous support of the Ann C. and Robert O.
