West Virginia Symphony Orchestra presents Soulful
/CHARLESTON, W.VA. (1/31/23) - The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) presents the next offering in the ZMM Architects & Engineers Pops Series, Soulful on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Charleston and Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in Parkersburg.
Guest conductor Chelsea Tipton, II joins the WVSO as Soulful brings a variety of R&B and Pops hits to the stage. From Smokey Robinson to Outkast, Stevie Wonder to Pharrell Williams, and Isaac Hayes to Seal, and more, Soulful’s musical offerings span 50 years of great R&B, Motown, funk, disco and pop. Broadway star and three-time Juno Award Nominee Gavin Hope takes the stage as the featured guest vocalist in this Jeans ‘n Classics curated show.
As an additional treat for the Saturday evening concert in Charleston, the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus will be featured with a special guest performance at the beginning of the show.
“Soulful brings to life popular hits featuring the Symphony that is sure to make patrons jump up and dance in their seats, and the performance from our friends at the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus will top off this fun night of music,” said President Joe Tackett.

The WVSO will also perform Soulful at Blennerhassett School in Parkersburg beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12.
